Shpiniov, Training and Outreach Coordination Officer of the UN Department for General Assembly and Conference Management, delivered a series of lectures and facilitated a number of master classes at the St. Petersburg School of Interpretation and Translation. Mr. Shpiniov  shared his expertise in institutional translation focusing on main areas of the UN activities, with special attention to linguistic peculiarities of texts and speeches characteristic of those fields, introduced our trainees to the UN on-line resources that can be used for training and self-training, and conducted a trial test in translation from English into Russian under conditions close to authentic competitive recruitment examinations administered by the United Nations for establishing a roster of qualified translators.<\/span><span lang=\"en-gb\">Mr. Shpiniov held a series of meetings with the University and School administration and trainers to discuss the first academic year and examinations results, and the prospects of future cooperation between the School and the
