The participants discussed the topical issues of the translation\u00a0industry: new technologies, alternative methods of training language specialists, freelance\u00a0ethics, marketing and cooperation issues. Round table discussions on professional ethics\u00a0drew a lot of attention where the participants developed recommendations for interpreters\u00a0and discussed professional lessons learned from big international events, such as Sochi-2014\u00a0Olympics (18 SCIT envoys worked at the Sochi Olympics). SCIT was represented by several\u00a0participants: Ekaterina Shutova gave a master class in consecutive interpretation with notes\u00a0and took part in round tables; Irina Alexeeva served as a member of the TFR organization\u00a0committee, gave a plenary talk \u201cLanguage Mediator and Time\u201d, and moderated round table\u00a0on the alternative models of interpreter training: SCIT graduate Alexandra Savelieva provided\u00a0simultaneous interpretation.<\/p>\n<p>The Forum demonstrated a new level of consolidation within the translation industry and\u00a0its readiness to face new challenges of today.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 28 September Russia\u2019s biggest translation forum (TFR) completed its work in\u00a0colorful autumn Ekaterinburg.
