Alexander Kruglov,<br \/>\nDirector of the Institute of International Relations at Herzen, together with Director of the<br \/>\nSchool Irina Alexeeva and Deputy Director Angelique Antonova were representing the Herzen<br \/>\nUniversity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-gb\">The meeting was inspired and chaired by Alexander Gorelik, Director of the UNIC. Also<br \/>\nparticipating in the meeting were the delegation of the MFA (Director of Department of<br \/>\nLinguistic Support Boris Tsepov, his Deputy Director Alexey Fedorov, Deputy Director of<br \/>\nDepartment of International Organizations Andrey Kovalenko, Chief of the MFA Interpreter<br \/>\nTraining Courses Vladimir Faekov), the representative of the UN Department of Conference<br \/>\nManagement of the UNHQ Sergey Kochetkov, as well as delegations of the Moscow Institute<br \/>\nof International Studies, Moscow State University, the Herzen University, the University of<br \/>\nLinguistics in Minsk and other guests. Our graduate and currently a staff-member of the UNIC<br \/>\nin Moscow Irina Zaitseva was instrumental in the organization of the meeting. The meeting<br \/>\nwas friendly and amicable. It was the first step in consolidating the efforts of all stakeholders in<br \/>\ntraining Russian interpreters of international caliber as well as in improving the standing of the<br \/>\nRussian language in international practices. At the end of the official part of the meeting UNIC<br \/>\nDirector Alexander Gorelik proposed to meet in such a format on a regular basis.
