In the course of the highly successful Conference participants discussed a possibility to develop the common view on training translation within the frame of “Master’s degree” and the necessity of competitive selection for such Master level program, competences needed for a translator and evaluation criteria for those competences, as well as possible ways for EC Directorate General for Translation to elaborate and promote program “training for trainers”.

14 марта 2008 г. в Брюсселе состоялась конференция «European Master’s in Translation» («Европейская магистерская программа по письменному переводу»), организатором которой выступал Генеральный директорат письменного перевода Европейской Комиссии. От Школы в конференции по приглашению Генерального директората письменного перевода принимала участие Антонова Анжелика Михайловна, зам. директора Школы. В ходе конференции была проведена плодотворная работа по выработке единой концепции обучения письменному переводу в рамках «верхнего образования», обсуждалась необходимость проведения конкурсного отбора при поступлении на такую программу, рассматривались компетенции, которыми должен обладать письменный переводчик и критерии оценки этих компетенций, обсуждались возможности Генерального директората письменного перевода по выработке и проведению программ «training for trainers».
