On September 25, the St. Petersburg School of Conference Interpreting and Translation celebrated the International Translator’s Day and welcomed those who were happy to celebrate their professional holiday in the company of colleagues and friends. The guests enjoyed sharing professional news, presenting their new translations (some colleagues published as many as five books in different publishing houses over the past year), meeting new students, and discussing the prospects for the future.
The celebration was a success, with sunny weather, homemade pies, and a fun-filled amateur concert creating a warm atmosphere. The colleagues were happy to meet after the summer holidays, to laugh at the jokes of the new cohort of students who have already become well-acquainted with the school and are getting ready for their first academic conference. The celebration was a real initiation into the profession for them, and an invitation to join the friendly SCIT family.
