June 26, 2008 – St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a presentation of the School in its premises to show support for the project and to promote the School. Among the guests there were representatives of business communities, professional interpreters and translators, as well as a representative of the Permanent Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in St. Petersburg, overall more than 40 persons. In their speeches the participants of the meeting shared their suggestions concerning the strategic development of the School, taking into account not only its international background, but the needs of the region and its business communities. Yury Burchakov, Deputy President of the Chamber, Sergey Goncharov, Vice-Rector of the Herzen University and others, stressed the need to promote a higher status of the profession in Russia.

26 июня в Санкт-Петербургской торгово-промышленной палате состоялась презентация Санкт-Петербургской высшей школы перевода. О важности повышения профессионального уровня перевода говорили все: и заместитель председателя торгово-промышленной палаты Ю.Н.Бурчаков, и проректор РГПУ им. А.И.Герцена С.А.Гончаров, и многие из гостей. На презентации были представители бизнес-структур, переводчики из различных фирм – всего более 40 человек. Гости высказали ряд предложений по стратегическому развитию Школы, учитывая ее ориентацию не только на международную деятельность, но и на нужды региона.
